Military Walk at Texas A&M University
College Station, Texas

Historic research and interpretative approach for a master plan to re-establish Military Walk at the heart of Texas A&M University’s campus was prepared.

Military Walk is so named for its use by the student cadets who marched to meals from the Guion (Assembly) Hall to the Sbisa Dining Hall on what were opposites sides of the historic campus between 1913 until 1939.

In 2006, then-President Robert Gates chose the reconstruction of Military Walk as his legacy project just prior to his call to serve as Secretary of Defense. The project design will include an interpretive program that will enable Military Walk to act as a timeline for the campus’ 125-year history.

Nancy McCoy served this project as Principal and Project Manager/Architect and designer for ARCHITEXAS, as a consultant to EDAW Inc.
