Tietze Park
Dallas, Texas
Constructed in the 1920’s, Tietze Park is one of Dallas’ early neighborhood parks that served the growing neighborhoods of East Dallas; in its prime it contained one of the city’s first public swimming pools, a Pavilion which hosted year-round recreational activities for the neighborhood children, as well as baseball and other playing fields. The historic WPA-era Pavilion, Pool and grounds are one of Dallas’ favorite neighborhood parks.
A master plan to guide the development of the park and full architectural services were provided for the restoration of the pavilion, creation of an east-west pedestrian connector through the park, improvements to the park landscape and hardscape and a new toddler playground.
